Gross (brutto) is the figure in your contract, before tax and social contributions. Net (netto) is what lands on your card. In 2026 the minimum is 4806 zł gross a month, which is roughly 3606 zł net, and 31,40 zł gross an hour on zlecenie, which comes out at 24,66–25,36 zł net depending on the voluntary sickness contribution. From 1 January 2027 the minimum rises to 4950 zł gross (about 3704 zł net) and 32,30 zł an hour.

I counted my own hours in a notebook until I had enough of it
My name is Vlad. I work shifts for an ordinary minimum wage — one of those jobs where you know the rota a week ahead and learn what you earned at the end of the month, along with everyone else.
One evening I added the month up myself. It did not match. Not because anyone was cheating — nobody counted my hours except me, I counted them in a notebook, and half of them I simply forgot. That is when I started building Shiftly: first for myself, so that on payday I would know the number instead of guessing it.
